Features

1555 Cole is a fully-detached contemporary home with 4 BRs on one level and unobstructed views stretching from Saint Ignatius to the Golden Gate Bridge to the Marin Headlands with all of Cole Valley, Ashbury Heights and Parnassus Heights in the foreground.;

The location is utterly secluded, at the very top of a cul-de-sac block, and nestled at the end of a private driveway set high above the surrounding homes - yet only blocks to Cole Valley’s quintessential shopping district.;

The floorplan is ideal, providing maximum privacy on the bedroom level while affording the public rooms an incredible view - it’s great for entertaining.;

Upon entering the home, you will step into a dramatic double-height skylit atrium with a vestibule where you can take off your shoes and put away the car keys.;

The spacious living room has vaulted ceilings and windows on two sides plus a deck to enjoy the view. This room is large enough to accommodate large-scale furniture and its generous scale allows for gallery-style artwork.

The kitchen has the same great view and opens seamlessly to a family/social room with a fireplace, lots of built-in cabinetry and a walkout deck. The kitchen is anchored by a center island with bar-stool seating and features a Wolf Range and SubZero fridge. There is an additional side deck right off the kitchen for a bbq grill.

Adjacent to the kitchen is a dining room with dramatic trompe l’oeil paint scheme designed by artist Caroline Lizaragga. This room and its patio enjoy the same stunning view as the other public rooms. This room has a beautiful custom pendant light fixture. There is also a large office (or potential 5th bedroom) on this level and a stylish powder room. High ceilings & skylights provide terrific natural light throughout the upper level.;

Downstairs you’ll experience a sophisticated primary bedroom with an immense walk-in closet. This room has its own gas-burning fireplace, a sunny balcony, and a fabulous remodeled ensuite bathroom featuring a dual vanity, jetted tub and spa-like steam-shower. Three additional bedrooms and two full bathrooms complete this level along with;an ample walk-in hallway closet.

The home has two sets of stairs (front and back) which in a home of this size makes it efficient to access different parts of the home more quickly.;

The massive garage occupies the entire footprint of the building and accommodates 4+ cars as well as an extraordinary amount of storage and multipurpose / rec area. No shortage of space to use for table tennis, workshop, hobbies or a home gym. There is also extra parking for a 5th car to one side of the driveway.;

The home has landscaping on all sides with a lush rear yard that features a gazebo and a flat seating area for entertaining.

Neighborhood

1555 Cole is situated within walking distance to Cole Valley's main shopping district; - a true "Village within the City" which boasts a broad choice of chic eateries, coffee shops and everyday services. It's a beloved and quintessential San Francisco neighborhood that has everything you'll need on a daily basis.;

You'll certainly want to take your out-of-town guests to Zazie Cafe, which arguably offers the city's finest brunch menu. Or take your book to La Boulangerie and idle away a few sweet hours on their outdoor patio. One of the city's best cheese shops is located here, as well as the flagship branch of Cole Hardware (for more than 100 yrs, its employees have been helping customers actually find what they are looking for - it’s a whole different experience than visiting a big-box store). Luke's is your local gourmet grocery store and also happens to make the best pastrami sandwich in town.;

There's an independent pharmacy, a gym, and a superb toy shop for the kids. Beit Rima on Carl Street with its sunny front patio offers Arabic "comfort food" including delectable rice pudding. For birthday parties, your kids will beg for time in the Ice Cream Shop. For healthy grown-up food, try Blue Barn. Finnegans Pub and Kezar Bar are great spots to have a beer and watch the playoffs on TV, or meet up with friends. For bigger shopping trips, Whole Foods is nearby on Stanyan.

The Haight Ashbury is located nearby, known for its exuberant mix of trendy clothes stores and hip restaurants. Gourmet groceries and a great deli counter can be found at Gus's and there are numerous spots to get coffee or a snack.;

A little further past Cole Valley you will find the Circus Center, a great educational resource for kids and adults alike. UCSF and 9th ave are located a little farther to the west, offering hundreds of stores and eateries. Golden Gate Park is within easy walking distance, so you can easily enjoy the Kezar Stadium, the Koret Playground, Carousel, Botanical Gardens and Academy of Sciences without needing to drive and park.

For the "Urban Hiker" there are several unique attractions: up above Cole Valley and located close to 1555 Cole, Tank Hill is a great spot to put down a blanket and watch the 4th of July fireworks. Farther up into the foothills of Clarendon Heights, the secret Pemberton Steps await your discovery while the meandering paths of Sutro Forest, reminiscent of Muir Woods, can be accessed from the top of Edgewood in nearby Parnassus Heights.

For commuting to downtown, Cole Valley can't be beat - the nearby N-Judah goes underground at Carl Street ensuring a rapid trip through the tunnel to the Castro and beyond. This is perfect for getting into work in the city, or weekend trips to the movies or the Museum of Modern Art - leave the car at home. But if you prefer to drive, it's easy to navigate to the financial district via Fell Street or to the northside of town including Crissy Field via Masonic, and the airport and points south are easily accessible via 19th Ave.;
